Item Description
Unusual large and impressive oversized molded composition caricature image of Mussolini's head stands 16.5" tall (as mounted on metal bracket attached to wooden base). 1940s. Head is hollow and interior neck area is attached to circle of wood, its edges wrapped in canvas as made. This wooden piece has been fastened to angled steel pieces attached to 12" dia. wooden circular base for display. Unsure of original use but most likely for anti-Axis display such as in store window to promote war bonds sales or other war effort themes. Nicely painted, head shows just some lt. scattered wear/aging w/back of head having line where canvas ends. VF/Exc. overall. Rare and first we've seen in our 53 years.
