Item Description
8.5x11" two-page typed American Federation of Musicians of the United State of America and Canada contract, dated Nov. 13, 1978. This contract was between American singer, songwriter, musician, arranger and civil rights activist Nina Simone (1933-2003) for Dec. 10, 1978 concert at  Avery Fisher Hall in New York, NY. Contract provided for option of a second concert on that day and contract was for $10,000. Bottom has been signed in black ink by Simone and her manager (and later husband) Andy Stroud. Bottom margin has some surface paper lift along back margin. Lower right has some tiny chew marks and lower left corner has tiny sliver off. Fine overall, but signature remains bold. Also comes w/Avery Fisher Hall contract for this concert, noting fee of $1,950 and $1,000 deposit. Two horizontal folds as mailed. Sheet has been taped to back of mat, partially obscuring signatures of Avery Fisher Hall representatives. Lot also includes matted photo print of Simone and Stroud. Comes with Hake's COA and Roger Epperson/REAL LOA.
