Item Description
Undoubtedly the most famous poster from the Family Dog series, as well as the most recognized image ever used by The Grateful Dead, this is a third printing poster is for Sept. 16-17, 1966 concerts at Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA featuring The Grateful Dead and Oxford Circle. Art by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley features the now iconic Grateful Dead image of a skeleton w/roses on its head in a rose garden as originally drawn by late 19th and early 20th Century artist Edward Joseph Sullivan. This third printing was done shortly after the original printings. All vintage printings of this poster are very popular. Lower right margin has some aging and handling but o/w poster is VF and would display Exc. if matted and framed.
