Item Description
4.25x6.25" mount w/applied albumen photo print. With his left hand Bryan grasps a lion's mane steadying his head for the impact from the "Free Silver Club" he wields in his left hand. Allegorical lion has a British Union Jack on its back and an obelisk in background lists American battles won against Great Britain during the Revolutionary War & the War of 1812. Mount has surface wear and faint pencil notation in left margin. Reverse has moderate wrinkling and light age. Fine. Nice contrast and clarity w/only light emulsion wear. A really exceptional image that is the only example we've seen in 53 years.
