Item Description
15.5x38.75" on thin paper. A "770" union bug and text "Auth & Paid For By W. Virginia For Kennedy Kanawha Hotel, Charleston W. VA. Senator Ward Wylie, Chmn." at lower right. Additional text "Vote Kennedy" and "Vote May 10th." Single pin hole in each corner, faint age toning contained to margins and tiny chips of missing paper at bottom center and lower right side. Extremely Fine, will frame to NM. Considered the most significant WV primary in history. JFK overcame a 20 point deficit in early April polls to hand Humphrey a defeat after which the Minnesota Senator dropped out. JFK went on to beat Nixon in the state in Nov. and credited WV voters in June of 1963 as paramount to his victory stating "I Would Not Be Where I Now Am, I Would Not Have Some Of The Responsibilities Which I Now Bear, If It Had Not Been For The People Of West Virginia."
