Item Description
14.25x20.5" third printing poster for Aug. 19-20, 1966 concerts at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA featuring Grateful Dead and Sopwith Camel. Art by Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse; this was their first poster for the Grateful Dead and as such, the spelling error of "Greatful" is present on this poster. Great design includes Frankenstein portrait at center. Bottom margin has "No. 22-3" third printing designation. Bottom margin has been signed in pencil by Kelley (1940-2008), and Mouse, who adds his distinctive running mouse sketch. Some lt. handling/corner tip wear but still clean and VF overall. A must have for Dead collectors.
