Item Description
9.5x9.5" double-matted artboard with nine 2-7/8" ink illustrations. Characters include: Wimpy, The Phantom, Henry, Felix the Cat, Mac, The Captain, Mama Katzenjammer, Tillie The Toiler and Snuffy Smith. Each has "Copr. 1946 King Features Syn. Inc." printed above images as well as names printed below. Felix the Cat has body paste-over with majority of facial features obscured by 2" dia. glue stain/residue. Each portrait has penciled consecutive numbers 10 through 18. With exception of Felix portrait, all are clean and bright with an Exc. appearance. Comes with overlay sheet with painted color guides, used to fill out color fields of characters. From the archives of premium creators Sam and Gordon Gold. Unique.
