8" tall. c. 1800. Scene depicting what appears to be Gen. Washington resting his foot on a lion (an allegory for the British empire) w/text in a banner reading "By Virtue And Valour, We Have Freed Our Country, Extended Our Commerce And Laid The Foundations Of A Great Empire." Other side features an equally striking transfer of the deification of Washington. Tiny and trivial hairline in field below handle. Extremely Fine. A beautiful example w/no signs of restoration.
