Item Description
11.5x17.5" artboard featuring the original art for cover of "Where Monsters Dwell" #18, published by Marvel Nov. 1972. Pen and ink original art by Jim Starlin depicts Chuck Dawson recoiling in horror from monstrous Plant-Thing from Mars, who wishes to travel to Earth in order to destroy it as it has done on Mars. Top of artboard has large attached printed title stat, which has inset circle at left featuring original art portrait of Plant-Thing from Mars. Bottom of stat also features original art, completing top of main image. Stat is taped to artboard at top left and as also glued. This has started to peel slightly along left and bottom edges, revealing Starlin's art of top of monster's head and raised arms. Starling has signed in black felt tip pen at lower right of art. Monster's word balloons have been taped over. Bottom has strip of glue staining from "The Mask Of Morgumm!" title stat, which has been reattached at bottom. Artboard has inked issue number and publication months at top margin and margins of artboard show scattered staining and handling wear. Pin holes at top corners and along margins. Back has faint Comics Code Authority inkstamp, inked notes and two pieces of aged tape at upper left/right. Artboard is Fine overall.
