Item Description
Scarce large 2.25" with curl naming maker Keystone Badge Co. Reading, Pa." Pocket mirror picturing Frank "Home Run" Baker was produced in honor of his .375 batting average with two home runs to lead the Philadelphia Athletics to a 4-2 World Series victory over the National League's New York Giants. 1911 would also mark the first of three consecutive seasons in which Frank would lead the American League in home runs during the regular season. Baker would finish with a career batting average of .307 along with 96 homers and 991 RBI's, extremely high totals for the deadball era that he starred in. The Veteran's Committee elected Baker to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1955. Three hairlines of missing dots of silvering off the mirror with silvering still 96% intact. The celluloid is extremely clean with very slight wear traces in reflected light. The tiny 1/16" rim mark at 8 o'clock is on the paper under the celluloid, not a cut. Glossy and Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example and also featured on his book's front cover.
