Item Description
8x11" wood board has incised and colored cover image from "Superman" #2 (Sept. 1939) and lower right has original artist's name imprinted in wood's surface. Bottom has wooden ledge attached which holds 7.5" tall jigsawed Superman figure, which has had feet added and painted. Wooden support rod on back. Front of ledge has penciled "Superman" name while underside has Dec. 16, 1941 penciled date. Scattered edge wear, more moderate along top. Evenly aged and Fine overall. Dan Makara Collection.
