Item Description
Original cardboard box w/nicely illustrated lid contains the first Superman timepiece produced, made in 1940 by New Haven Clock Co. and distributed by The Everbrite Watch Co. Inc. Box lid is evenly aged and shows scattered edge/corner tip wear. Tiny 1/8" puncture at lower left, which has corner crease. Underside of box has 1/8" puncture and .25x5/8" spot of staining. Illustrated die-cut display insert has some creasing and small tear at center right side panel where watch is displayed. Box and insert are Fine overall. Comes w/New Haven guarantee/care paper and small inspection slip. 1.25" chromed metal case watch has dial featuring illustration of Superman from knees up w/"Superman" comic book title/logo below. Original leather bands show some wear from use. Crystal has yellowed w/age and has some surface scratches. Dial remains clean. Case show some wear but retains full bright luster. Running. Fine overall.
