Item Description
9x9-5/8" album w/20 pages, containing complete set of 180 thin paper color tinted cards. Each is 2x2-7/8" and mounted at appropriate spots. Issued in Spain by Fher (known for their album and card sets). 1940s. One of two different Capt. Marvel albums released by Fher. Great cover art features Capt. Marvel and villain The Scorpion. Pages feature Spanish captions below each card (which has photo images as opposed to art as seen in other set), telling the story of the 1941 Republic movie serial "Adventures Of Captain Marvel," which starred Tom Tyler and Frank Coghlan Jr. in the title role. Inside front cover has attached sheet listing other Fher albums. Cover has lt. even aging w/paper remnants along spine. Fine to VF. Cards are overall EX to NM as mounted. Rare as complete. Comes w/two different 3.25x5.25" Spanish heralds for the original release of the Republic serial, one featuring The Scorpion, the other showing Captain Marvel (colors were changed, resulting in Captain Marvel looking more like Captain Marvel Jr. Spanish text on back. Slight aging at to back along tops, but o/w Exc.
