10x23x3" deep box contains 5-piece set No. 53, 1950s. All pieces are cast metal including a large 10x11.5x2.5" tall bomber and four matching 4.75" long fighter jets. Box is very nicely illustrated and bottom panel is designed like a flight deck. The original box insert includes cut-outs of the top of the aircraft carrier with guns and turrets plus 8 crew members. Insert is Exc. Box overall has light dust soiling and a few separations of die-cut lid. Has two 1" splits at top lid corner flap. Fine. Bomber is designed with folding wings, retractable landing gear and clear plastic cockpit. Four fighter jets are all designed with folding wings and retractable landing gear. The folding wings of the smaller planes have darkened somewhat with age. Planes o/w have only a few minor scattered paint nicks and overall an exceptional set in Exc./NM condition. $500- $700
