Item Description
8" tall painted pressed steel toy telephone w/2" tall thick die-cut cardboard Mickey Mouse figure attachment. N.N. Hill Brass Co. c. 1934. N.N. Hill produced a number of different Disney telephone toys including several variations of Mickey phones (some with banks); this is the standard toy phone-only variety w/painted, not plated receiver and dial. Rotary dial w/bell. Original cord attaches painted wood handset to base. Mickey figure has even moderate aging and small spot of moisture staining. VG/Fine. Painted parts have small scattered paint nicks while printed cardboard disc underneath dial shows heavy wear. Metal grommet that held dial cover in place has been replaced w/metal nut, making dial motion somewhat stiff. VG/Fine overall. Rare candlestick variety.
