Item Description
1.75" no maker, rookie-era button. Frank Robinson began his Major League Baseball career in 1956 with the Cincinnati Reds and led things off with a bang, winning the National League Rookie of the Year award that season. During his next 10 years in Cincinnati, Frank would add a National League MVP award in 1961 to his trophy case along with six NL all-star selections. In 1966, Robinson would move on to Baltimore and immediately became an American League superstar, winning the triple crown in his first Orioles season, leading the AL in batting (.316), homers (49) and RBI's (122) as well as copping the American League MVP award that season. Frank would go on to post tremendous career numbers: .294 BA, 586 HR's and 1,812 RBI's and was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982. Robinson also  became the first African American manager in MLB history, when he took over the helm for the Cleveland Indians in 1975. Light wear in reflected light. Glossy. VF.
