Item Description
First is 1.75" with Hyatt, Baltimore back paper. This button is of the era when Thorpe made the Carlisle Indians Industrial School team coached by Pop Warner in 1907. One tiny black dot upper left as made, rest Exc. We're located about 30 miles away from Carlisle and this is only the second example we've seen in our 53 years. Second is 1.5" with 3.5" ribbon. Gold text reads "Jim Thorpe/Penn/May 30th/1957". Small oxidized section on collet and pin shaft is oxidized as well. Button and ribbon are Exc. Last is 1.5" with curl naming maker Votes Unlimited. Reads "Carlisle, Penna. Recognizes Project Jim Thorpe 1969". Upper left has stain, rest quite clean, Fine. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
