Item Description
This badge is the only one known to us picturing Jim Thorpe. Top is 2.25" wide brass bar pin of Native American in a canoe with initials on the side for Redman's fraternal group. Great detail with lodge and W&H text on reverse.  Loop holds 1.75" button with W&H back paper. 1933 date and meeting place "Carlisle, Pa." on lower edge while at center under the cello covering is 1-3/16" real photo with text "Jim Thorpe - Former Carlisle Athlete" showing him in football uniform and kicking. His foot is just as high as his outstretched arms and he is looking upward, but his facial details are very clear, even more so with a loop. A rare and desirable Thorpe item that we have only offered a few times in our 53 years. Light and minimal surface wear shows only in reflected light. Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
