Item Description
9.5" long truck is unmarked but most likely made in Japan as Japanese toy makers often "borrowed" American character images for use on toys to be exported. Unauthorized, 1950s. Free-wheeling truck has painted tin cab and wheels and tin litho body. Different images are shown on sides, including a well-rendered image of Howdy Doody character Flub-A-Dub as well as Fisher Price style pull toys and tin toy racer images. Other side features clown and generic toys. Opening door in rear. Truck is evenly aged and top of cab has some bubbling to paint as made, resulting in to spots of bare metal showing. Rest of truck shows some lt. scattered wear in the form of small paint nicks/scratches. VF overall. Rare and first we've seen of this unusual Howdy Doody-related toy in our 53 years.
