Item Description
11x14" textured presentation envelope w/"Howdy Doody - Sponsored By Colgate-Palmolive-Peet Co. - Mason, Au & Magenheimer Confectionery Mfg. Co. - Unique Art Mfg. Co." label noting enclosed "NBC Television Audience Promotion Kit." Kit consists of information sent to new stations carrying the weekly "Howdy Doody" TV show that started broadcasts in Sept. 1948. Kit contains total of 22 pieces, including ad mat, two small sheets of printed sample promotional art to be shown on air , nine "NBC-TV Audience Promotion" announcements to be read live along w/glass slide w/caricature image of Buffalo Bob and Howdy. Also included are printed "Program Information" and "Star Biography" sheets and five glossy 10.5x13.5" photo images of Buffalo Bob Smith and/or Howdy Doody and scenes from show w/printed caption labels attached on reverse of each. Some general scattered lt. wear/aging and one sheet has some moderate scattered staining, but overall most contents are Exc. Presentation envelope shows more moderate wear w/splits at ends of envelope flap. Fine. Very rare and first we've offered in our 53 years. Among the most historically significant Howdy Doody items we have ever offered.
