1-5/8". Hake Book III shows this and also with no top bar pin. However this example has a visible tiny brass hooked tab at top indicating original attachment to likely a brass shell bar pin. Front has muted luster as made, Back has NM bright brass luster and cardboard photo is clean. Likely 1884. Exc.
