1.25" made either for use at the GOP convention in June in St. Louis or very shortly after his nomination. Only their April 14, 1896 patent appears on this varnished surface back paper. On 1.25" buttons, the July 21, 1896 patent does not appear until December, 1896- please tell me if you see an 1.25" with only April 1896 patent on back but front dated before Dec, 1896. NM
