Item Description
Post's cereal premium issued in 1936. Brass ring w/adjustable bands. Sides show crossed bats and baseball diamond while top has Dizzy Dean's raised portrait set within a diamond shape comprised of base paths and bases. (See following item for round-shaped variety). Dizzy Dean broke into the Major League with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1930, albeit for just one game before assuming a spot in the Cardinals pitching rotation from 1932-37. During that time span, Dean won 18, 20, 30, 28, 24 and 13 ball games, winning the National League MVP award in 1934 and finishing second in MVP voting in 1935 and 1936. Dizzy would finish his career with the Chicago Cubs, hanging up his spikes in 1941 with career totals of 150-83 along with a 3.02 ERA and 1,163 strikeouts. Dean was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1953. Choice, high grade example w/brilliant full luster. NM.
