Item Description
2x3.25". Produced by the Collins-McCarthy Candy Company of San Francisco, CA, the 200-card, bw set represents the company's only venture into issuing non-Pacific Coast League players. The cards, numbered alphabetically, measure 2x3.5" and are printed on thin stock. The same cards can be found w/the advertising of other regional issuers on back or blank-backed. "Greasy" Neale had careers in both MLB and NFL. A World Series champion, he batted .357 in the 1919 World Series and led the Cincinnati Reds w/10 hits in their eight-game series win over the scandalous White Sox. During this time, he also played football w/the Ohio League as well as coaching. He later joined the NFL, where he served as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles from 1941 to 1950, winning the NFL Championship in 1948 and again in 1949. He was elected to the Pro Football HOF in 1969.
