Item Description
1.75". No maker but with union bug back stamp. Text is set against a baseball design. Version with "Philliies" at center rather than "Whiz Kids" (see next item). The 1950 Philadelphia Phillies, a/k/a the "Whiz Kids" won the National League pennant with a record of 91-63 under manager Eddie Sawyer. The offense was led by future National Baseball Hall of Famer Richie Ashburn, while the pitching staff was led by fellow Cooperstown selectee Robin Roberts.
