Item Description
This is our first seen example and we cannot find any previous offerings. The 1.25" tall inverted shield design cardboard frame has a border accented by 24 faint and slightly raised stars. The cardboard, in two layers, sandwiches a rwb fabric ribbon, wider below the frame and thinner above, but overall 3" long. The top 3/8" of the ribbon was shredding due to the pin so a short strip of archival tape 13/16" long was added to the back so the badge can be handled without fear of the ribbon totally separating. This stabilizing repair is not seen from the front. The lower ribbon has slight tan tone, the photo and frame are very clean and the eagle has much luster. Overall, Fine. Rare.
