Item Description
1.75" tall plus loop in velvet lined box with hinged lid and closure hook titled on the outside " The 'Mirror Of Life' Medal" and inside lid naming maker "Vaughtons Ltd. Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Birmingham". Medal reverse has their initials along with three hallmarks. The medal was commissioned  by a British magazine (1894-1924) published under several titles including "Mirror of Life " and "Boxing World" and made available to subscribers. The magazine title on front has blue enamel background. Front also  has detailed images of them, their names, and fight date. Reverse text in full "Johnson Won In 14 Rounds 2 Mts. 27 Secs." High quality. Mint medal in NM box. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example (box not in book). Rare.
