Item Description
Full 2-5/8x6-5/8" ticket for July 4, 1919 boxing match between Jess Willard and Jack Dempsey that took place at the Toledo Athletic Club in Toledo, OH. This heavyweight championship fight saw Dempsey pummeling Willard (who had taken the belt from Jack Johnson in 1915), resulting in at least three cracked ribs and a battered face. Willard was unable to continue after the third round. Ticket originally cost $10. Upper left corner has some fingerprint smudging and ticket has some lt. scattered dust soiling but still displays Exc. overall.
