Item Description
The iconic version of this button commissioned by Bayard Rustin is 2.25". As the recent APIC Keynoter issue devoted to the civil rights movement reports, 26 days before the march 42,000 2.25" buttons (used as a 25¢ fund raiser, see following lot) had been distributed with another 82,000 on order. However, this much larger 3.5" was also produced in an unknown, but much smaller, quantity. This 3.5" size has its own distinct union bug reading "AFL-CIO/Local 64/Union Made". NM displaying Mint. This is the button photographed for the book (page 145 with back story) Button Power by Carter/Hake. Comes w/Hake's COA.
