Item Description
1.75 x 2.75 x 3/8" thick plain tan cardboard original box with two opening end panels holding essentially same size match safe wrapped in superb multicolor celluloid with high luster silvered ends, one hinged to access the matches and the other notched to strike them. Made by W&H c. 1905 with side panels reading "Buckeye Twine / Banner-Hay  Rakes". A note with the item says it originated from a Victorian home in Woodville, Ohio. The issuer, Aultman, Miller & Co. was located in Akron, Ohio. Wonderful color c. 1900 depictions of farmer and two-horse team using the "Buckeye Binder and Mower". Box is Exc and a rarity in its own right. Safe is essentially Mint and Rare. Alan Weinberg Collection.
