Item Description
Complete set of eight dolls by Ideal, 1938. Dolls range from 10.5" (dwarfs) to 15.5" (Snow White) tall. Multiple size/style Snow White and dwarfs dolls were produced that year by not only Ideal, but also Knickerbocker and Krueger. Ideal made these dolls in two versions, offered here are the versions w/oilcloth heads/arms/shoes (w/stockings) whereas other version features composition heads/arms. Snow White's cotton dress has silk-screened images of the Dwarfs along w/their names, forest animals and cottage facade. One-piece slip/bloomers combination. Dwarfs wear felt and corduroy outfits, hats with silk-screened names and leatherette belts w/metal buckles. Movable heads w/faces that have detailed painted accents w/life-like hair for Snow White and plush beards for Dwarfs (w/obvious exception of Dopey). Arms and legs move as well. Snow White still has original string tag around wrist. Tag has creases and edge and is Fine overall. Snow White's dress is aged and shows wear to silk-screened design. Dolls show scattered wear to faces, w/Grumpy exhibiting the most wear to nose and Snow White having some wear to tip of nose. Fine to VF overall. Dolls come w/modern doll stands for display purposes. Nice set.
