Item Description
5.75x8.5x4-7/8" tall painted metal base w/14-3/8" tall (to tip of raised finger) painted, fully dimensional solid foam rubber figure of Doc from Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs for overall height of 19.5". Made to promote famous French publisher Hachette's line of books, c. 1950s. Hachette has had a Disney license from the 1930s to the present day. Doc wears wire-rimmed glasses and base has small aluminum plate on right side w/L'Etalage Mobi - Publinel maker's name and Paris, France address, Back of unit has European-style, two-prong connection and paper label w/French instructions and toggle switch to operate the unit in either 220 or 110 volts. It appears the motion produced when operating consists of Doc's head nodding. As we have no European type cord, we are unable to test the display to see if it works or if has any other motions. A wire rod extends .25" from Doc's raised fingertip, we are unsure if this held anything or if it is just there to brace his arm. Figure is evenly aged w/some creasing at shoulder and cracking to arm/hand as material has hardened w/age. Some scattered paint flaking to base but still Fine overall. A wonderful advertising display, sure to be a focal point of any Disney collection.
