Item Description
1.5", no maker. Spring pin holds two ribbons joining ball marked "Made In Germany." The 1934 Detroit Tigers won the American League pennant with a final record of 101-53 under National Baseball Hall of Fame manager/catcher Mickey Cochrane. In addition to Cochrane the offensive attack was led by a trio of future HOF'ers: Hank Greenberg, Goose Goslin and Charlie Gehringer. The Tigers would go on to lose the 1934 World Series to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven tough games. The black ribbon has five long vertical fabric splits but no horizontal tears. The orange ribbon has two tiny fabric dots gone from upper right edge and tiny 1/8" split on right side where it meets the ball. The button has under 1/16" black thread under the cello next to the numeral "1" of 1934, barely seen and otherwise button is Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
