Item Description
6.5x6-5/8" sheet of art paper features pen and ink original art for the cover the Lone Ranger #1, a Spanish comic printed in Argentina featuring reprints of Charles Flanders' June-July 1946 Lone Ranger daily strips. Cover artist is unknown but done in the style of US Dell comic book covers. Small cover art corresponds w/smaller 4-5/8x6.75" comic book (a worn reading copy is including w/art). Art features great image of Lone Ranger from the waist up, both guns drawn as Tonto rides Scout in bkg. Hand-lettered Spanish text translates to "The Apaches Want Peace?" at top, partially on paste-over. Back of art paper has had watercoloring added for color guide purposes. This gives the appearance of colored art when held to light. Some small handwritten notation along bottom margin. Art paper shows moderate handling wear w/vertical crease at center. Center bottom margin shows some wear. Fine overall. Unique.
