Item Description
From the collection of early premium cataloguer “Little” Jimmy Dempsey. This 1936 ring was used as a Cream of Wheat and newspaper premium. Within the Buck Rogers Club literature, the ring is also known as "The Supreme Inner Circle Ring." Side panels each have tiny star accent and text "Buck Rogers Solar Scouts." Top depicts Buck in his rocket ship w/his arm raised holding a gun. He is surrounded by four tiny star accents and on the right side is a partial image of a cratered moon w/four burst lines emanating from it. At the center of the rocket ship is a beautiful emerald green faceted stone. Under normal viewing the ring has gorgeous deep brass tone glossy luster. Under magnification luster is off raised surfaces of the image and about 70% of the narrow circular rim that surrounds the image. Luster also off narrow front and back edges of the finger hole. Luster largely remains on all the surfaces of the base as well as the top image bkg. With normal viewing, ring displays essentially Mint and grades as Extremely Fine. This example was formerly in the "Little" Jimmy Dempsey collection and then in the Hake collection for the last 16 years. We've offered about five examples over 40 years. Rare.
