Item Description
Five artboards, measuring between 13.75x19.75" and 14.5x19.75" have pen and ink original art for five-page story by Tom Hickey for First Love Illustrated #33, published by Harvey Oct. 1953. Complete art for "Trapped" story in which a harmless joke played by Peggy and a young sailor goes too far and almost breaks up Peggy and Jim's engagement. Pages are wonderfully detailed. Top margin of each page has stamped "First Love" title w/inked printing information and handwritten numbers. Upper left corner of each page has additional handwritten codes pertaining to this story. Back of each artboard has Comics Code Authority approval stamp. Top of each page has issue number inked over w/handwritten "July" notation. Artboards have some scattered margin aging and corner tip wear but art remains clean and Exc. Dan Makara Collection.
