Item Description
10x12.5x23.5" painted poured plaster. This scene from Rogers' Civil War series shows a Southern woman placing her hand on a bible held by a union soldier as she swears allegiance to the U.S. Constitution, a requirrment to receive Union Army distributions of food rations, her young son at her side and a freed African American boy w/empty basket at left. Moderate and scattered small surface chips. Spots of missing paint and surface wear most notably affecting bible and soldiers hand. Fine.
