Item Description
21x26.75" on thin newsprint stock. 1861-1863. Canton features text "Philada Evening Journal Carr & Elliott Publishs." encircling a portrait of Washington set in a large star w/34 stars in total filling the field of each point. Vertical and horizontal crease w/separations and losses along lines most notably a less than .5x1" area of missing paper at center. Edge wear, notably five chips of missing paper along bottom edge. Good. A rare patriotic wartime broadside that is an amazing survivor and worthy of attention by a skilled paper conservator.
