Item Description
2-1/8" w/Bastian Bros. on curl. The St. Petersburg, FL GOP 1st District Congressional nominee William Cramer riding Ike's coattails on this button likely dating from his narrow 0.7% defeat in the 1952 election, though it could also be from his successful 1956 campaign. Only minor wear in reflected light. NM. Despite the narrow loss in '52 Kramer returned to win the district in 1954 becoming the first Republican since reconstruction elected to Congress by Florida voters. Only the third example we've seen in our 54 years. John Pendergrass Collection.
