Item Description
1-1/16". Shell frame typically seen featuring cardboard portraits of Hayes or Tilden from the 1876 campaign but here featuring a ferro of "U.S. Grant." This military portrait was in use from the Civil War through both 1868 and 1872 presidential campaigns. This was likely produced for Grant's failed attempt at a third term in 1880. Dark spot in background is in image as made. Otherwise light wear in reflected light. Exc.
