Item Description
17.5x20-5/8" wooden frame contains stretched canvas w/oil painting original art by Chronister for window box packaging for Remco's 9" line of Universal Monsters action figures released in 1980. Art is from front of box, featuring Boris Karloff as Frankenstein's Monster, as depicted in the 1935 film Bride Of Frankenstein. Chronister has signed at lower right. Art has a few small surface scuffs at right (not affecting Frankenstein image) but o/w remains bright, clean and glossy w/deep color. Exc. 1970s and 1980s action figure and related packaging original art is highly sought after and rarely comes up for sale. Unique original art for monster fans and action figure collectors alike. This and following five items represents a full set of box art for Remco's 1980-1981 Universal Monsters toyline. Art was originally obtained by directly from sources at Remco. This lot was previously offered by Hake's in our March 2020 auction. The winning bidder defaulted, and we are pleased to offer the lot again.
