Full 3.25x4.25" ticket for Sept. 7, 1892 "Grand Glove Contest For The Heavyweight Championship Of The World" held between John Sullivan and James "Gentleman Jim" Corbett at the Olympic Club in New Orleans, LA. Corbett won the World Heavyweight Championship, knocking out Sullivan in the 21st round. Ticket notes $25,000 purse as well as $15 ticket price and has been stamped "Press" on front and back. Ticket has evenly aged and has some scattered soiling and corner tip foxing. Fine. Historic and important boxing artifact.
