Item Description
2-5/8x3.75" Florida Athletic Club ticket stub originally printed for the first scheduled fight between  James "Gentleman Jim"Corbett and Bob Fitzsimmons, which was to be held in Dallas, TX in 1895. Unfortunately, that fight was canceled, but the tickets were reused in 1897 when the fight took place in Carson City, NV. In an upset, Fitzsimmons knocked Corbett out in the 14th round to win the title. Corbett never regained the title and Fitzsimmons refused a rematch. Ticket originally cost $10. Original Oct. 31, 1895 date on stub has been crossed out. Exc. Extremely scarce and highly desirable 19th century boxing ticket stub.
