Item Description
Large and impressive 27.5x110" fabric banner advertises theater screening of the World Heavyweight Championship bout between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier held March 8, 1971, at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It was the first time that two undefeated boxers fought each other for the heavyweight title and is widely regarded as the biggest fight in history and as arguably the most anticipated and hyped sporting event ever. Frazier won in 15 rounds via unanimous decision. Banner has large text reading "Now - Frazier-Ali Fight Pictures - 1st Time In Color" and bottom has fringe trim. Banner shows heavy scattered staining and bottom trim is missing in 1" and 10" strips. Original brass grommets remain at bottom corners, but they have been ripped from top corners and top edge has some .25" to .5" tears. VG overall. Rare.
