Item Description
14x17" artboard features fully realized mixed media specialty original art by George Tuska (1916-2009), best-known for his 1940s work on various Captain Marvel titles and the crime fiction series Crime Does Not Pay and for his Silver Age work illustrating Iron Man and other Marvel characters. He also drew the DC Comics newspaper comic strip The World's Greatest Superheroes from 1978-1982. Art features nice full body image of Superman in flight, racing to stop speeding missile as spaceship flees exploding floating cities. Large hand-lettered "Superman" at bottom right w/Tuska's signature below. Later commission work. Some minor dust soiling to margins but could be matted and framed for Exc. display.
