Item Description
2x11x13.25" standard issue "Ben Cooper" box w/no Superman graphics contains playsuit size large (12-14). 1950s © Superman Inc. Box bottom has one small edge tear. Corners remain tight. Lid has lt. aging/wear and has tape repair on all four corners. VG. The all-cotton suit consists of shirt, cape and pants plus vinyl belt w/gold metal buckle. Shirt has silk screened "S" emblem on chest and along front bottom edge is small image of Superman and boy wearing Superman outfit, both shown from the waist up along w/text "Remember-This Suit Won't Make You Fly Only Superman Can Fly." Designed w/buttons down the back and pants have elastic waistband, cape has string ties. Shirt has some lt. aging/wear, trace of yellowing and some wear to decal, including small red pen mark. Plain red cape looks unused as do the blue and red pants, just lt. aging/wear. Overall suit still retains a bright and clean appearance. Fine to VF. The vinyl belt is rolled and looks unused, minor wear on buckle. VF. David Barsalou Collection.
