Item Description
1.75x10.25x13" illustrated box w/boy and girl wearing suit for Funtime Playwear Superman Play Suit. ©1954 National Comics Publications Inc. Box has heavy edge wear w/some creases and lt. aging/wear. Original store price sticker remnant on front panel. Small edge tear on box bottom side. Box is VG overall. Size 8 playsuit consists of three pieces of cotton fabric in red/blue. Shirt is complete w/all four original plastic buttons on back w/silk-screened "S" chest emblem showing moderate wear as folded. Sleeves have some wear and there are several tiny holes scattered on shirt. Cape has large silk-screened "Superman" name and full body image. Two small holes and lt. wear. Pants have 1" hole at fly area, otherwise clean. Missing vinyl belt. Outfit is VG w/ tags missing. Comes w/8.5x10-5/8" certificate for the "Supermen Of America" club that is unique to this set. Certificate has some handling wear and filled out in pencil/pen. Fine. Also comes w/7x9.25" four-page "Superman's Buddy" comic book. This 1954 NCP comic was later issued in 1958 in two colors only.
