Item Description
36" tall cardboard advertising standee for Wildroot Cream-Oil Hair Tonic w/21" wide die-cut standee attaches to top of box, which has die-cut legs and feet attach to slotted area on either side of the box. Display features Detective Fearless Fosdick (a parody of Chester Gould's Dick Tracy that appeared in Al Capp's Lil Abner comic strip 1934-1977 as a comic strip within a strip) is depicted with three simulated bullet holes. Vertical slot in back center of box for missing generic cardboard attachment to keep display upright,  but not needed. Display comes w/original aged assembly instructions and shows scattered lt. wear and is VF overall. Wonderful design. Very rare display, this being just the second we've offered in 54 years (our last example selling for $917). Comes w/unused 3x7-1/8"sticker featuring Fosdick and advertising Wildroot Cream-Oil. Sticker is aged and Fine overall. Both standee and sticker are ©1954 UFS. Comes w/10x14" magazine page featuring Fearless Fosdick comic strip that cleverly works in Wildroot advertising. Exc.
