Item Description
11x17" DC Comics artboard has pen and ink original art for page 5 of Batman: Legends Of The Dark Knight #54, published by DC Nov. 1993. Art is by Mike Mignola, best known for creating Hellboy for Dark Horse Comics, part of a shared universe of titles including B.P.R.D., Abe Sapien, Lobster Johnson, Witchfinder and various spinoffs. This art was created just months after Hellboy's debut and features Batman battling deranged killer in a graveyard. Page features seven panels of the fight, in which Batman is stabbed in the shoulder in first panel. Batman appears in all but last panel. Text and sound effects are hand-lettered paste-overs; some show some lt. glue staining as applied. Top margin has inked "Legends Of Dark Knight" title abbreviation w/"Crypt" notation and page number. Top/bottom margins have aged strips of tape slightly off-center, but art itself remains clean and Exc.
