Item Description
14x22" on uncoated card stock. Woodcut portrait signed in print "JL" at bottom right. A 2.5" horizontal tear at right just right of the top edge of portrait frame that is repaired on reverse w/archival tape. Pin and staple holes in corners and at center top and bottom. Scattered moisture marks, edge wear and handling bends. VG. Though a bill was introduced just four days after King's death, the US House of Representatives didn't vote on any proposed legislation until 1979 w/that measure falling five votes short of passing. Pres. Ronald Reagan ultimately signed a bill into law in 1983 w/the holiday taking effect at the federal level in 1986.
